This was an unusually difficult ghost-writing project. It demanded that we take readers inside the technology of nuclear power instead of "writing around" it, as most magazines dowithout violating Reader's Digest's reputation for brevity. It also required voicing consistent with a scientist of Seitz's stature. And finally, despite those strictures, it needed to keep readers' interest to the very end. Unlike many scientists, Seitz completely understood what I was trying to do, spent hours answering my questions, and approved the final draft with hardly a change.
